Hello. I’m not going to tell you my real name, or where I live. Can’t do that at the moment. Not because I am in some kind of sinister witness protection programme, but because I can’t be completely public about the things I’m going to write about. So for now, call me Kate. Short for Bob.
In September, I am going to Theological College. This blog is about how I got to know that, and how things are changing as I pack up one life and start a different version of me somewhere else.
Once I can go public with this news I will fill in places and names where I can. But for now, if you guess who I am, keep it to yourself, please. I really don’t want to have to leave my job early.
The title of this blog comes from one of the BCP prayers for Compline. It’s been a favourite of mine for a while.
Be present, O merciful God, and protect us through the silent hours of this night, so that we, who are wearied by the changes and chances of this fleeting world, may repose upon thy eternal changelessness; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
